On 25th June 2021, DSCI and Ashoka University jointly called on some of India’s prominent cryptographers within academia and industry to deliberate the effects of introducing “traceability” into messaging platforms and how it could affect end-to-end encryption. They deliberated on a series of possible interventions and focused on redesigning the threat model. Based on their analysis, they have generated a series of pros and cons of each intervention.
